The entrance experiences regular pedestrian and trolley traffic, requiring an effective solution to capture dirt, moisture and debris before it can be transferred onto the internal flooring.

The system also needed to provide a safe and accessible entrance for all visitors while maintaining the clean, professional appearance expected within a busy retail environment. With no recessed mat well available, a surface mounted solution was required that could deliver high performance without compromising accessibility, functionality or the overall appearance of the entrance.

The Solution

Balancing Performance, Budget, and Accessibility SB+

Working closely with the client, Excel Matting supplied product samples and guided Conkers Garden Centre through the available options, balancing performance requirements with budget considerations. Following a review of the entrance, durability requirements and accessibility needs, the FRONTRUNNER SB+ system was selected as the most suitable surface mounted entrance matting solution.

To provide a safe transition onto the matting without a recessed mat well, a bespoke ramped edging system was incorporated around the installation. The completed system provides effective dirt and moisture control while creating a durable, accessible and visually cohesive entrance suitable for regular pedestrian and trolley traffic.
